Now, he is left to pick up the pieces/grapple with the pain/face the wreckage of their love/relationship/bond, a victim of her calculated actions/her hidden agenda/her treachery. The silence {was deafening/spoke volumes/screamed her guilt. He yearns for answers, for closure/understanding/justification but all that remains are empty promises/bitter memories/the echoes of her lies.
A Husband's Nightmare
John awoke in a cold sweat, his heart pounding like a drum. He had been plagued by the that awful nightmare once more. In it, he was always trapped in a dim room, eager to break free.
